I have a simple habit when I shop online. Before I place an order, I spend a few minutes looking for a coupon code.
I don't expect to find a discount every time, but I think it's worth checking. If I'm already buying something, a small saving is always better than paying the full price without looking.
The problem is that not every coupon code you find online is still active.
Too Many Expired Offers
I've come across plenty of coupon pages with long lists of offers.
At first, they look useful. Then you start trying the codes.
One doesn't work.
Another has expired.
A third one has conditions that don't apply to your order.
After a while, you realise that the number of codes on the page doesn't really tell you how useful the website is.
A coupon code is only helpful when you can actually use it.
Why I Care About Current Offers
Retailers change their promotions all the time.
A discount may be available for a few days, a weekend, or a particular shopping event. Once the promotion ends, the code may stop working.
That's normal.
The frustrating part is when an old code stays online and still looks like a current offer.
As a shopper, I don't want to spend several minutes testing codes just to discover that none of them work.
That's why I prefer websites that make an effort to review their offers regularly.

For me, verified coupon codes are a much better starting point.
A verified code isn't guaranteed to work forever because retailers can change their promotions at any time.

Final Thoughts
I don't think a coupon website needs thousands of offers to be useful.
For me, the quality of the offers matters much more than the number displayed on a page.
I'd rather find one current and checked coupon than spend time testing ten expired ones.
That's why I make a quick coupon search part of my online shopping routine.
Sometimes the saving is small, but the habit takes almost no effort.
And if I can save money without spending much extra time, I think it's worth doing.
